I'll be honest and say I'm more interested in meeting your dog than you, but sadly, we're not at the point of pups being able to read yet. So here you are! And it's so very nice to meet you!
My name is Christine Anzalone-Keesee. I've lived in Los Angeles for the past seven years, but my passion for animals has been lifelong. Having been in the grooming industry for the past decade+, I've spent countless hours studying my craft to give your pup (or kitty!) the very best experience possible.
Originally from the DC metro area, my childhood was full of foster pets and I would oftentimes accompany my mother to her job at the local Humane Society. As a child, I wanted to be a vet, but my creative instincts brought me to a more artistic animal-based career! I began bathing immediately out of high school and never looked back.
My favourite elements of grooming are when I'm given the creative freedom to use colour and unique cuts to showcase how cute your pup can be! I also absolutely adore working on elderly and special needs friends. Extra points if there's a killer underbite involved.
I strongly believe in creating a calm and happy- nay, even joyous! experience for your furry friend. Which leads me straight to....
My heart beats for rescue.
My entire life was full of foster animals - puppies, kittens, older dogs with behavioural issues, chinchillas, etc. I would frequently accompany my mother to her job at the Humane Society of Waldorf (Southern Maryland, for you curious little beans) and if there was a stray dog wandering about, you bet we'd spend hours, days, however long it took, to catch them and find their home. One time, we even found a stray ferret under our grill!
So now, as an adult, I love to volunteer my free time grooming rescue pups for free. There's nothing that makes me happier than giving a previously homeless dog a truly loving bath and cut, only to see their interest skyrocket afterwards. My ultimate goal, is to create a country-wide, potentially even global outreach sanctuary named after my late mother.
In the meantime - you may notice my pricing is a touch higher than my competitors. The reason for this, is to allow me an abundance of free time to devote towards rescue pups. If you're familiar with Muddy Paw Coffee in LA, think of it like that; compared to getting your coffee from Starbucks, you can spend $6 on your latte from the big chain and save $1, or you can get your $7 pick-me-up from an organization that puts their money where their mouth is, and you know your dollar is being spent towards a worthwhile mission!
(note: no shade towards Starbucks. I <3 them as much as the next girl.)
At the end of the day, my primary purpose is to make every possible animal feel loved, beautiful, and happy, whether they're owned by a billionare in Beverly Hills, or are still searching for their forever home. And every single pet gets the exact same loving care, no matter their background.
